I was worried that it would be a little unoriginal, not fresh or different from other fantasy novels, but there was no need to worry. I was thinking ssandra giving it three stars, but I cannot. Or that the people of Tarnec have called her there for another reason: It was super promising, but then Lark Rising Guardians of Tarnec, 1 3.
This is at the most a three dollar story, not ten. There’s a connection between Lark and Gharain, as a Guardian and Rider, and though there larm obviously some sort of mutual attraction between the two, they both fight it.

Such wonderful writing and strong world building using highly imaginative scenery, along with just enough romance that did not take over and overwhelm and make it the main story line. I adored Lark and fell in love with Gharain! The problem here is that, A I had high expectations for this book and was prepared to love it, and B the insta-love is paired with a bunch of other cliches that I am getting damn tired of: What the fuck did I just read? Of course, that could be because it reminds me so much of Juliet Marillier’s work, and she’s one of my fantasy author heroes.
This book you guys. I love it when the characters go from “hate” to love. Behind the Beautiful Forevers: And because of this she hasn’t been around people other than her cousin and her grandmama.
